Well worth the short drive in the country! I had the opportunity to be invited by a beautiful friend of mine to a new place, The South store Cafe is absolutely something not to miss. In fact, I would call it a destination caffeine and pastry experience. As a pastry chef, I always look for the unique and I can tell when the people preparing are using amazing skills, time and imagination. My favorite was a savory beautifully prepared. Cheesy pastry. I can't feel the life of me remember the name. And I had a beautiful cup of their seasonal coffee drink. It is a beautiful, clean, well decorated kind of on the old school look, but their food couldn't be more above modern and a twist. So sweet and savory. I can't wait to go back!
Parking lot is one-way and you’ll want to come in from the back side of the building (not super well marked). Super cute bakery with lots of good options, plus coffee and other drinks to go with it! Very laid back

This is the sweetest little getaway you can find when you’d like to go have a wonderful lunch or breakfast. Such a gorgeous old building with charm and beauty to it. The people who work here are so much fun and really enjoy working together. It’s a wonderful environment to come to, and the food is all personally made, including incredible baked goods. Every day, they have fresh quiche that they’ve made there on site. Even the turkey on the sandwiches is real turkey instead of cheap lunch meat like most places. I cannot say enough about their veggie sandwich, which I usually add one slice of turkey to, As well as their incredible homemade soup.
Wow! What a find. Wife saw it and wanted to go so we did for our anniversary. I had the Croque Madame and she the Strata. The size is deceiving.
